Yes it is, its a great OS... I suggest you try some Live distros first... have a look at http://www.linuxlinks.com/Distributions/LiveCD/ and http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php ... burn a few of them and play around at first... after you get comfortable with a distro and learn your way around, you can install one on your hard drive

First of all, I'm a huge linux fan and have been for years, but if you're going to try and make a point, learn to punctuate and use proper grammar and spelling.

^ Stop saying that, its NOT true at ALL. Photoshop is superior, period. GIMP is great but its not Photoshop.

Anyway, neither OS is better. You guys need to stop flaming and get over it. The argument is never going to end.

No, you were obviously too excited at my post and didn't notice the blatant sarcastic smilie. So you're taking things personally because you know I had a completely valid point and you couldn't think of a more mature response.
Not that you understood my original reply to begin with.

And that's really not the point, check the forum rules. Proper grammar, punctuation and spelling are encouraged on this forum. I never take the time to criticize others' grammar, etc. but when I see someone trying to defend a great product with a terribly thought out response, such as yours, sarcasm kicks in.

Anyway, GIMP isn't superior to Photoshop at all. I'm all for people having different opinions. However, saying it's better because it's free simply isn't true.

GIMP is free, yes. It's a very useful and powerful program, indeed. But going out and saying "GIMP is much better than Photoshop" is downright wrong.

Next time, read through the post you're replying to and, if applicable, notice the smilies and the obvious attempt to make others realize there's no use in flaming each other. Everyone has an opinion.

Yet nother case of just how little text and even smilies can do for inflection or personality...

To each his own...
