AVX is an instruction set that sandy bridge uses.
allows you to get awesome gflops with linpack/linx/etc

Yes, but how to obtain it ?

I only get around 60GFlops running at 5GHz, how do i set AVX ?

if you have the most recent linx, or IBT i am pretty sure it comes with all the necesary instruction sets...and it will automatically use the correct stuff.

are you using the most recent release?

#5 I am using the latest version, however i forgot to update SP1 after re-installation

To get the latest Intel linpack libraries, download the Windows version from this page.

Then extract linpack_xeon32.exe and linpack_xeon64.exe from /linpack_(version number)/benchmarks/linpack into your LinX folder. If you are using IntelBurnTest, you need to rename it to the ones in the folder.
