load temps for 7800gt, 500/1.22 oc'd
Hey, just wondering what temps under load should be for the 7800gt? I have an xfx 7800gt oc, stock is 450/1050, and right now oc'n 500mhz/1.22ghz. Temps idle for oc is around 44-46 degrees, and under load anywhere from 64 - 71(temps during 3dmark05). What is the max temps I should be running for idle and under load? I think I might have to drop it down some, just wanted to hear what you guys think before I do? I'm almost hitting 8000 on 3dmark05, and btw, this is on stock cooling as of right now ; )

Just as long as your videocard isn't hitting 80c load, you should be fine.
ok then should i put that as max in NvTempLogger? I put 90 in there as i read thats the absolute max? thanks, Mike.

44-46 is fine. mine runs about the same 504/1.17 and as of now it's 43*C
well its weird, when i tested it, its all fine, then when i play fear i get artifacts so I just put it back down to stock 450/1050. Im kinda pissed ; (
If your getting artifacts most of the time it's the memory try xxx/1200

I ran my card at 500/1200 and I got no artifacts. Temps average around 64
was that idle or under load temps? when i use nvtemplogger, the hottest it got was 70 degrees, and I was noticing artifacts. I would have thought that I wouldn't see artifacts at temps around 70 but i do?

well i just played fear, and it got upto 77 degrees under load with ocn to 489/1200. no artifacts at all, think I'll keep it there unless you guys think I should change it? later, Mike
I would think Core temp is more important then ambient temps right? cause all temps have been core temps.
