Logitech g35 or?

998 Views 14 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  FattyMcFatFatFatty
Hey guys, I wanna buy a headset with the best audio sound and surround and realism and comfortability?
I don't mind saving up a little extra to buy the logitech g35...
But I'm reading a lot of mixed reviews...
I need a pair for gaming mainly( surround sound pls) and also for watching movies...
Preferably USB connection so I don't have to keep disconnecting my speakers to use the headset...
So is the g35 really worth it?
Or is there something better for the same price?
I live in south Africa so if you guys could give me a few good headsets cause options here are fewer then the states etc...
Any one here using the g35 headset?
Thanks guys

You're going to get told this a lot, so I'll get it out of the way: Gaming headsets are a gimmick. You should get a good pair of Open-back stereo headphones instead.

I'd recommend something like Sennhesier HD515s or ATH-AD700s or JVC RX900 headphones, and a Zalman Clip-on microphone.

Thanks, so what you telling me is that the 7.1 channel on the g35 aren't really necessary?
I'm not a lanner but I enjoy listening to things like a cat meowing in the room next door while playing games if u know what I mean?
I'll look into those headsets, thanks

ps: I don't really need a mic

this. i was soooo close to buying these. but i opted for the hd555 and im glad i did. i love the sound of the open back style cans. it feels like i have my speakers up full blast, but in headphones.

Can you hear like what's going on around you and stuff? Like surround sound effect?

I'd so rather get some Audio Technica AD700's tbh. Much better than any surround sound gaming can.

Headphones will never really be able to replicate proper surround sound.

However good open/closed headphones will provide enough impact and the ability to hear footsteps in games etc.

As others have said your best bet is headphones + clip on mic.

Purchasing your headphone depends on your music tastes and by no means does more expensive = better.

Sound is Subjective.

Some good ones to look at are the Shure SRH440 for a closed model or Audio Technica AD700s for open.

Plus a zalman clip on mic your good to go

If your after Pure Music have a look at the Alessandro MS-1.

So after reading a few reviews and looking at prices I'mtrying to choose between the seinnheiser HD 515 or HD 555 depending how the south African Rand reacts to the dollar in a week or so...
Which is better for gaming and movies?
And also I'll be connecting it to my m4a78-e mobo onboard sound or my logitech x530 5.1 speakers which have an amp...
Where will it be best to plug it on for better quality?
I don't have money for a new sound card but I read somewhere that connecting it to my 530s will produce better quality but I can not confirm this?
Thanks
