And I can't decide.

Aside from the Thermalright GodArrow and the Noctua Jesus14, I'm having trouble deciding what the best performance cooler/fan setup will be.

I'm currently eyeing the Hyper 212+, Titan Fenrir, Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B, and Venomous X (with a fan).

Sig rig is the target. Advice?

WC'ing is the best option if you want to stay cool, those air coolers will allow you to hit 4GHz but you wont get the best results imo. Consider picking up an H50, H60, or H70.

My vote is Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B and I would get some Gentle Typhoon AP-15 for it too.
EDIT
On the H50, H60, or H70 comment.
Don't buy they. They are not worth the money unless you don't have the space for a better cooler. Plus a 1090T need less vcore to hit 4.0ghz then Phenom II x4. A stock Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B is equal to a H50 and Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B is cheaper for the same performance.

And have one of those make-shift pumps die in a year? Besides, I don't consider Corsair's H-line to be "watercooling".

I've always assumed intel chips were hotter because of the hyperthreading. Is this a myth?

I'd recommend the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-Heatpipe-Bearing-Cooler-NH-D14/dp/B002VKVZ1A"]D14[/ame] It's arguably one of the best coolers out there that's not a full water cooling system. If you have good ventilation, which you do with the HAF X, You'll get great temps with it. Is this what you meant by the Jesus14? What's your reserve against it?

I have a bad feeling about kits. Especially ones that only cost $130. How the hell did they get the price so low?

This is a parts list I put together about ten months ago:

The cooler I'm using keeps me at extremely low temps (32C @ 4ghz). I don't mind it, but its supposedly noisy (29db fans). These high power fans (87 CFM) keep air moving through the case. It is also small. One of the fans covers 2 RAM slots, and i think makes it so you can't have ram with big heatsinks. This fan is not needed though, due to the air tunnel design of the cooler.

EDIT : Of your preferred choices, I would say the Mugen.

I don't know about the OP, but I know it gets old when people suggest the NH-D14 (1) with almost no regard for the specific system in question, and (2) despite being told it's not preferred as an option.

Given the OP's preferred options, I'd say the Mugen is a good balance of value and performance. Plus, given enough room, you can put 4 fans on the thing.

Not a reserve, really, I just see it everywhere and being suggested by everyone. Perhaps it's fair since it's always trading the the one/two spots with the Silver Arrow in the reviews, but seriously - we get it. It strikes me as a known quantity, so I wanted to shine the light on some of the other coolers. Nobody talks about the Titan Fenrir, so I wonder if anybody has anything to say about it.

Fair enough, I was curious as to why you didn't want it though. I read an article a few months back about the Titan Fenrir, and it's a solid heatsink, but I'd expect the Mugen to be better. I'd definitely say go with the Mugen from your options in the OP.
