Due to the fact that every computer chair I've ever owned has caused me back aches (especially the upper back) and a numb butt, I'm trying to get something good this time. I spend many hours sat at the computer working everyday, and sometimes play games too. I thought that maybe one of those ergonomic chairs would be good, but I don't know much about them.

I'm looking to spend up to about £400, but I'd prefer to spend £300 or less if possible. I want a fabric and/or mesh covered chair rather than leather, and I'm not too bothered about looks, just comfort! Hopefully there's something I can get in that price range. I don't know much about chairs so could do with some tips here.

Thankyou

In the USA they can be found for about $650 minus 20% office depot coupon putting it at about $500usd which is about 420 euro.

I have 2 in the house. Oldest one is used 4hr daily for 6 years and still in excellent shape. Comfortable enough I have fallen asleep in it. GF has Sciatica and she likes it. And it's mesh so no sweaty butt

I've just been looking at AKracing chairs also. They look similar to DXracer. Does anyone know what they're like?

I don't have one yet, but I'm planning on getting this one from Noble:

A glowing review:

Not so "race car" looking, a bit more mature and refined. The non-leather version is under 400 bucks. Leather versions are a bit more pricey, but dang they look good.

I'll let you know what I think. I deal with a pinched nerve in my lower back that comes and goes, so having proper lumbar is important to me. This supposedly has it in spades without looking crazy. I'm also 6'5" 220 lbs, so this one looks to be able to fit my frame well. I like my current chair, but the gas piston is leaking, driving me nuts, can't replace it.

They do have a more "racer" looking version as well:

i own and am siting in an AK racing arctica i got one for the same reasons, always had a sore back and butt in my other chair. this one causes neither, it has great back support and plenty of butt pad. ive had it around 4 months now. and i cant complain. havent had a sore back since 2 days after i switched chairs.

i have this specific model: https://www.amazon.ca/AKRacing-Arctica-Gaming-Chair-White/dp/B071YVRKCV

Thankyou for all the suggestions, guys! I will look into all of these properly.

I've also realised that I would prefer a chair with a material cover than a leather type one, so I'll be paying attention to those more.

The Herman Miller Aeron is a timeless design and remains today one of the most revered chairs of all time; I own one and have never been more pleased with a chair. I spend upwards of 40 to 50 hours per weekend sitting in it, almost near non stop and have never ONCE experienced the slightest bit of discomfort. Absolutely perfect:

...

You can also get a headrest for it from a third party and some chair vendors will include it; I also have the headrest and highly recommend it:

...

...

Just search around for deals. Their are two styles of lower back support that are completely interchangeable (as seen in the two photo sets above). Do some research ... the design has been around for ages and has never changed. This is the chair that all current, modern "mesh" style chairs are modeled after ...

Best of luck ... highly recommend the Herman Miller Aeron...

I've checked out everyone's suggestions, looked at pricing and availability, then weighed up pros and cons. I really am after a fabric covered chair rather than leather, so that narrowed down my choices a lot. In the end, I've picked the AKracing K7012. I'll be ordering one soon. I'll post back with my thoughts on it once I've used it for a while. Hopefully it's a good one!
