Looking for a good single player fantasy/sci-fi RPG

OK, I have been itching for a decent, one player RPG. I would love something turn based like FF. I am looking for sci-fi or fantasy based and I am not looking for a FPS RPG. I am also not looking for an MMO. I want something I can play for an hour or so and put down for a few days.

I'd prefer to DL it (so Steam, D2D is good), but I'll go and buy if it is worth it. Also, I am not looking to spend $60, $20-$30 is more like it. I have tried The Witcher, Oblivion, Assasin's Creed, KotOR and others with no luck. I just couldn't get into them. It just seems that every decent looking fantasys RPG is an MMO.

I was going to suggest Dragon Age/Jade Empire/Mass Effect, but they're quite similar to Kotor. Take a look at Dragon Age though, I hear it's excellent.

I was thinking of that, but it is a bit out of my budget. I don't mind if it is an older game or not, either. (within reason, lol)
