Looking for a good wireless controller for PC

I'd really like to get a wireless controller for my htpc to play emulators with. Any suggestions? I will be playing a couple of light computer games. So something with a good D pad and joystick. Also, I'm sort of on a budget... So less than $40 please... Used on Amazon works too. < $30 is a plus.

Thanks!

Also, if this belongs in peripherals, I am sorry.. Please move.

oh this is easy, buy the wireless reciever for xbox 360 controller off newegg.com

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16874103054

as for emulators, the Dolphin Wii/GC supports x360 controller from the get-go, others require xpadder keyboard emulation.

if you want PS3-style controllers that will be recoginized as xbox 360 controllers, here:

you can probably get a xbox360 controller with wireless USB receiver for relatively cheap

EDIT: I didn't look around too much on Amazon, but a quick search found this:

Well that's frustrating... Since I hear people talk about them all the time.. Changed the OP. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Seems like I'm going to go with the xbox dongle! +rep to all!

I use my ps3 controller paired to my pc by a bluetooth adapter I got at best buy. Grab motioninjoy drivers which were recently approved by microsoft and got a signature so you can load the pc in normal mode and play with them from the start.

Another vote for the XBOX 360 Controller.

If you need to save some money I suggest a knock-off USB receiver and get a used wireless 360 controller, I have two of the no-name receivers and they work as well as the real one I use with my HTPC.

The best part is that they are less than $12 each: Link to $12 Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Gaming Receiver

Hope that helps you out!

Talking about them is definately frowned upon. Linking software/instructions for breaking copy protection is a big no no

360 controller, I have one it works great, plus most of the games coming out today seem to be already configured to use the button mappings on the 360 controller.
What I would like to know, is there a wireless controller for the PC that is like the PS3 controller, where you recharge the controller by plugging it to the system. I do not like the idea of the changing batteries the whole time.

Basically, a rechargeable battery inside the controller is what I am looking at.

Yes, they are called Play and Charge batteries. It's a battery pack that is rechargeable, and you charge it by plugging a cable included with the pack that plugs into the USB of the 360 and the port on the top of the controller.

I would also like to find where I can buy a wireless receiver for my wireless controllers. NewEgg has them deactivated

There is a USB charger for the 360 that goes into your system, but it doesn't carry the signal so you still have to have the wireless receiver attached
