Have you considered a Samsung B2330? It has a 23" screen, 5 ms response time, and also happens to be $195 - well within your budget.

Edit: if you wanted something a bit spiffier, you could look into a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-P2450H-24-Inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B003ARSZ1G/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1318218352&sr=1-1"]P2450H[/ame] which is also made by Samsung. It's priced around the $300 mark. It's a 24" monitor and I use one. Gorgeous picture

For those cards I would get a monitor with a higher res, say 1920 x 1200. Since those are rather scarce.

How about a Dell 2311H? You can find them for$250 1920 x 1080. If you are used to your TV, the Dell should be a huge step up, with much better colors.

I would look at this monitor as well.

Or you can consider my sig monitor, which is the Asus VE248Q

EDIT: You might be able to find the VE248Q for ~200 and it's 1080p, 2ms response (GTG) and IIRC, 10m:1 contrast ratio. Also, 24"
