I recently built my first real gaming rig on a budget this passed black friday for about $400, here are the specs:

* Asrock 970 Extreme3 Mobo
*AMD FX-4100 cpu
*Visiontek Radeon HD 7850 gpu
*2x4g 1600mhx G-skill Ripjaws ram
*Seagate 1tb 7200rpm HDD
*Corsair cx430 psu
*Rosewill Challenger case

I have always been a huge fan of matx builds, with hdd up to 4tb and ssd as popular as they are now and since I am using this simply for normal pc use / gaming I never saw a reason for a big case especially with all those usually empty slots for optical drives / fan controllers. The bitfenix prodigy is the PERFECT case for me and I want to do a his/hers setup for me and my GF. My main problem is, the only really good matx boards are for intel procs, and I am not willing to change my cpu simply for making the rig smaller. So my question is, do any of you know of any good am3+ Mobo with sata 3 / usb3 as well as the ability to overclock? I found I believe one asus mobo that fit the description but it isn't sold anymore and there was the problem with the bios needing upgrades. I am not looking for extreme OC, just bumping the cpu to maybe 4.5 which is not hard on an fx 4100, mostly gpu OC. I am willing to be flexible on usb 3, as I don't plan on too much heavy data transfer. Thanks in advance ^

TL;DR Looking for am3+ micro atx Mobo with sata3/usb3/decent OC.

I don't understand the lack of love for amd, they make such great budget cpu. They are a godsend for gamers that just need a basic quad to couple with there gpu. Only intel has mATX gaming mobos =/

Well for mATX mobo AMD got the APUs line, so no need for a mATX for a FX chip. FX chip is for Med/High End Gaming/Multi threading rig.

AMD kept their latest FX chipsets for ATX and larger mobos, unlike Intel they think APU is plenty for most people needing a MATX/Mini-ITX Rig. Both Intel and AMD believe that people running MATX/Mini-ITX setups are more likely to use them as HTPCs than Gaming Rigs, thus they both reserved them for their APU/LGA1155 lineups as these have a integrated IGPU.

AMD doesn't make any motherboards. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Motherboard manufactures pick what market they want to target.
When AMD keeps on supporting sockets upgrades without forcing
their users to buy new motherboards the Motherboard makers don't
make money. Demand for Intel ITX is higher than AM3+ ITX.

AMD ITX solution is FM1 and FM2. OP can sell/trade his
current motherboard for a Trinity based solution like A10-5800k
or go mATX with a different case than the ITX Prodigy.

Lots of nice mini Towers for mATX board.

somebodys CF build with Silverstone tj08e over at HOCP

mATX Case option
Arc Mini mATX Mini Tower
Fractal Design Define Mini Black Micro ATX
Lian-Li A04
Silverstone Sugo SG09 mATX
SilverStone Sugo SG02
Silverstone Tj08e

Full ATX case that don't take up much space (if OP wants to use current motherboard & cpu)
Lian-Li A05

AM3 ITX boards are rare. I don't know of any AM3+ ITX board on the market right now.
