I dunno what it is but no matter what drivers I use on my computer, I'm always getting like 30-60 avg fps in Black Ops. Sometimes it does this laggy mouse thing and my aiming gets all screwy. Most other games play pretty well like BFBC2 and Metro 2033. Even Dragon Age 2 plays better.
But I see on review websites that this card is supposed to be averaging 100+ fps. I copied the settings they used and I'm not even close. Is it because I'm using two monitors?
Edit: I tried this with vsync on and off btw.
yea i play 1920x1080Originally Posted by eternal7trance;13002873
I tried using just one monitor but I ran in to the same problem. Crispy, what resolution are you playing at? I'm playing at 1920x1080.
It depends, what resolution are you using, If you are using a high resolution of atlest 1680x1080 then you should completly disable Anti-Aliasing, because Anti-aliasing is basically fake resolution, AA should only be at x16 when you are playing on a low resolution such as 1280x768 or 1360x768, even then you should put the AA at only x8.Originally Posted by eternal7trance;12973534

You're right, I changed it to 0AA and there's hardly any difference in the graphics at 1920x1080. Everything is just as clear and I can see far away just fine. I have everything else cranked and now it caps out and stays at 60fps. I have vertical sync on so this is totally fine. +repOriginally Posted by charlie97;13023236

Don't be an idiot. The setting multi_gpu "1" is default DOES NOT affect non-SLI/CF users. Please read the user manual and you'll realise that that setting looks for whether a 2nd GPU is installed in SLI/CF, if it isn't, the game does NOTHING. So the Dev's were right at setting it to "1".Originally Posted by Dr216;13023446
Blops can disagree with all sorts of things in your computer, No idea if its been fixed with patches etc as I haven't touched the game since the end of the November when it became obvious they were not going to fix it.
But one of the problems it had was randomly deciding to set the config up as though you have 2 gpus when you only have 1 and vice versa but also limiting you to 2 cores on your cpu, check through the config files and check those settings.
Also certain sound cards just make it cry in the corner. check yours against ones with known issues.
End of the day though cheapest upgrade path available to fix this POS console port is to buy an xbox :'(
