I've been trying to overclock my 7600GT and for some reason, with both coolbits and rivatuner, I'm not able to achieve speeds close to what other people/sites report. This is my first time overclocking anything and I'm not quite sure what's wrong.

My Memory clock doesn't even go above about 750-760 Mhz before it says that the internal test failed.

My driver version is 8.4.2.1 and my bios version is 5.73.22.15.01.
I'm running an AMD Athlon 3800+ with 200gb hd and 1gb of ram.

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, I tried with those drivers also, but I still had no success in overclocking above 750 Mhz.

My temp is only 50 C

Yea, both of mine are running at 610/820. Must be a bum card.

What makes a card "Bum"? I'm not being "smart", I really would like to know. Isn't there anything that can be done? Is there a "CMOS-like" reset, or a utility or something that can "Flush" the settigs? Or is is purely physical?

I guess I got lucky too. When I was using my 7600GT as my primary I ran it at 626/850 w/o a volt-mod.

More developments:
I can overclock my core speed to 645! My 3D benchmark score goes from 3000 to 3200.
However, my memory speed still gives me the
"The driver failed to pass internal test with the clock frequencies you are about to set. Please decrease clock frequencies and try again" when I try to increase the memory clock speed over 759 MHz.

Any other help would be appreciated!
