this will be updated as i get time and will only be updated from my nokia n810
the nokikia n series deviceses use the maemo operating systems which are 06, 07, 08. you can upgrade yor n800 to os 2008 if you choose to but you might loose a program that you need because you can not use 07 software on the 08 OS. and you can't install older OS's on new devices.
i will be talking about the n810 with OS 08

well the weight is good it feels solid but not to heavy to hold. the slider feels strong so i dont feel like it will break
the 800x480 screen means that you can view webpages at there full width
you can hook up to a wireless network
and with bluetooth you can use a bluetooth keyboard and you can use a phone as a modem
