If you don't want to wait a MONTH for Amazon to get them in stock you can do the Ebay Fandango. I just ordered one of these bad boys and should have it in 2-3 days. BRB Native 3840x2160 @60hz PC Master Race checking in!

Oh my particular seller said it needs a multi-plug adapter so make sure you have one or a cord like this:
http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogIdentifier=2&partNumber=787944&langid=-1&cid=PS:GooglePLAs:787944&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=32-328523991-2

It looks like some sellers are giving multi-plug adapters away as a "free gift."

. Why not a PLS since Samsung makes pls....
Samsung don't currently make any 4K monitor panels themselves. This one uses a CMO TN panel which is considerably cheaper than the current IPS or IPS-type alternatives.

I really want a 4k monitor since I added a second 290x to my rig I think I can handle 4k at decent settings, however nothing good seems to be out for a reasonable price yet. Dell has that 24 inch IPS one, but I feel like going from 27" 1440p to 24" 4k is not that amazing

hmm...... I know the 28" dell that is coming out is a TN panel, is that 24 inch dell 4k the best one we are gonna see for awhile? I don't want to drop hella dough and be really mad when something better comes out a month later

How do you calculate PPI anyway? I'm not a monitor expert

I personally would wait... prices will get lower, including 1600p and 1440p monitors, and the 4ks will get faster. And me either but I go have a good friend that knows a lot about them.

I have had really good experiences with Samsung TN displays in the past (S27A50D & S27A950D) and for TNs their pictures were really, really good.....so I have confidence that this 4k is gonna be awesome.

That 28" dell 4k does not do 60hz f4k, its limited to 30hz so that dell is crap. The 24" dell 4k is pretty for websurfing, photos & video editing, but sucks for gaming. This 28" Samsung 4k is designed for gaming and all around general use. If your rocking two 290x you should be getting this display or a Rog Swift....or both like Im gonna do lol

Lol wait for what? A $699 price point is fantastic for a 28" 4k gaming display and I don't see prices falling for at least 6-12 months. Its not like the outrageous price tag that the IGZO 31.5" was fetching @$5k or the Dell 24" 4k for $1,400 when they first launched. Seriously wait for what? The Lenovo & Asus 4k are gonna be $800 and they use the same panel as the Samsung (but they do have more functional stands & mount options).

the dell is 60hz and I've heard nothing but how TN is inferior to IPS/PLS in like every way ?

TN is better for gaming as its grey to grey pixel response times are waaaaay better versus IPS/PLS. IPS & PLS are prettier displays with superior colors & viewing angles, but pretty much suck for gaming as they have more input lag and more motion blur / ghosting. This is why the Dell 24" 4k is pretty much trash for gaming.

This samsung 28" 4k has been confirmed to do native 60hz 4k on DP1.2, which means no MST mess!
