OK. I want to replace my ISP's DNS server with my own for my website and my internet. I have 1 static ip and am going to get a second one (as the first one's gateway) in a day or so. I guess I will need to use BIND on linux but I have no idea how. thanks for any help!

BTW my ISP is TekSavvy Solutions (DSL) and my IP is 76.10.166.253. Thanks!

Not sure what your asking but imo the easiest way to set up a DNS server is to use Ubuntu 8.10 server, during the installation you can choose to have it be a DNS server and it sets most of it up for you.

All you need is BIND. You can set it up on Windows or, if you are running a dedicated server, on any Linux or *BSD flavour. I would suggest FreeBSD due to it's great documentation and how good it works with this kind of stuff, but any Linux distro will do fine as well.
