Martin your website was invaluable to the watercooling community. As was your testing. Is there anyway we could get a copy of the pages uploaded somewhere? I loved your website and used it alot it kept a whole lot of useful information in one place, you have done an incredible service to this community as a whole, and have kept us from making bad decisions about water cooling parts.
For those who don't know what the website was here it is: http://www.martinsliquidlab.com

Agreed, your info really was infinitely helpful. I just love the flowrate estimator. Any change you can host that somewhere on ocn?

I'm sure ocn could host it somehow, that would be awesome. With the amount of bandwidth ocn already gets it would nothing. Maybe put it into the blog section tempoarily or something.

I concur, it truly is the end of an era. Good luck Martin.

when did this happen? i thought i looked at it just earlier today and now... we will all miss you and i hope we can find a way to bring the information back, even if we cant convince you to keep at it martin. i understand the massive amount of time you invested and i am deeply grateful for it. no matter what happens next, Thank you for all that you did for the community.
Martin, please tell me you have copies of testings, you could upload them to OCN as FAQ's, your info helped me get into watercooling and got me to buy my first setup
That sux Martin, sorry you got burned out on it, you have done a lot of really good testing..
..And I don't think for a minute that "Charting Martin" is really done, its your fun with it, you'll be back to it soon...

enjoy your vacation and family martin...

hey ira, thanks for the stickies...very valuable to the wc community

wish the grand cpu block roundup testing came out though..
i am not into watercooling. But i wanna do something to the ocn community. I have an account with hostmonster and my current bandwidth usage is only 1 - 2 % out of 15000 GB a month. So i would be more than happy to host martins site or anything else that would be useful to the OCN community. Please pm me if required.

Sorry guys, I just had to pull the plug.

I've had a good time learning and sharing the results. As with any testing there is always inherent errors involved, I'm not perfect and neither is any one test. As I mentioned before, I'm the type of person that sort of hops from one hobby to another. Four years ago, I was spending every last moment on dpreview.com in the 300D forums learning about photography. Four years before that I was breathing streetbikes and ran serveral streetbike websites including forums. I generally get very focused on one thing and live, eat, and breath that one thing until I am done. I've been at the "Done" phase with watercooling testing for a while now, unfortunately I've managed to get quite a backlog of parts to review, to the point where I had several months worth of work to do. To make matters worse, some of the vendors continued to send me parts many times I didn't even know they were coming. Sounds like a dream come true for you guys, but it became this never ending nightmare for me and I just wanted it to end.

In addition I began to start looking at the reviews and testing and data I've collected and wondered what good it was really doing. To me, it's alot more fun seeing everyone test and share their results in this forum. Then...yesterday I received email notice from my website host that my domain will expire soon, I had been planning to get out of this for a while now, so I figured it was a good time. Christmas is coming up, and I'm ready to focus on some different stuff...just part of that transitioning of hobbies I do along with most people I know.

I'm not vanishing anywhere, but I've decided in order to make testing fun and recreational for me again, I just need to loose the weight of the website. It just becomes enough hassle that it feels like work for me, and I don't want anything to do with that anymore.

So in the end, I encourage you all to test and share your results here. Fill the forum full of your own results and have fun with it!..Many people have been do so, so carry on with it!

I'll add a couple of website links to the page for more forwarding options.

hey martin, if you got some parts you could let go for cheap, pm me please
Me too! If you are willing to let go of that feser quad radiator and XSPC Edge, let me know!
Say it ain't so, Martin!!!!

I found your emperical approach refreshing. In most cases you presented your test results and let us draw our own conclusions about what that meant. When you did express an opinon, at least there was some emperical basis. I've certainly used your test results in giving advice to others (and carefully gave attribution).

Your "laboratory" approach and Ira-K's "practical experience" approach really provided a valuable 1-2 punch for this forum. Whatever you do from here, God's Speed!!

You guys are like vultures.....

Martin, thank you for all the effort you put into your testing. You truly were helpful to many people, myself included. I know exactly what you mean, that a hobby can become a job when it is forced on you.

If you have your tests saved somewhere, why don't you make a thread and post them all? That way people can continue to benefit from your tests and you will not have to host them.

If you ever decide to get back into testing, we'll be here for ya!

Thanks guys, I will likely sell of some of the spare parts I've been collecting over time, but I'm probably also going to give a bunch of it away to some fellow testers so they can carry on with a set of parts to start from.

I'll let you know.

In order to completely shed myself of the testing burden and have the ability to completely relax, the data had to go with it.

There will be new testing from other people that will be more up to date.
Dang Martin, Sorry you got that burned out on it...Hey now you can relax and just play with it and have some fun again..
..I bet you can, once all the pressure is off...
