Hey all. I received a free i5-750 CPU from my uncle that works at intel. I bought a Maximus III Gene motherboard. I installed everything correctly with 2 Corsair Vengeance 1600 RAM in both red slots...

It won't POST.

It turns on for half a second and shuts off for 2 and repeats. I tried using MemOK! feature with a no-go. I used the ROG Connect to find out there is a "CPU Initial" error....

Board revision is 1.00G

Can anyone help?????

Has anyone with the same board had this problem???

The Mobo, RAM, or CPU is bad. OR their not Compatible. Maybe the PSU isn't enough.

Ok I'll try getting a super cheap motherboard. Just wondering, the Corsiar Vengeance RAM are compatible with the 1156 platform correct? Plus I've noticed that when I unpluck the CPU power connection, and turn the power on, the motherboard actually stays on, just no video output.....kinda weird

Any other ideas?

Put them in DIMMS 0,1 (black slots) and give it a shot, if you flip through the manual I believe it indicates you must use these if only using 2x modules.
