Ok, been building systems off and on for a few years now, and after I got the new mobo, now the cpu led is red and it doesnt want to post, what can I check on this to see the prob, I have tried resetting the cpu and even tried without the h70 on and still just a red cpu led, guessing the cpu might be bad, all the pins look good, any help?

Try switching the BIOS bank (Maximus has an onboard BIOS switch).
Try booting with 1 stick of memory.
Clear the CMOS with the power unplugged with the cmos button.
Make sure eps12v cpu 8 pin connector is plugged in.
Make sure RESET jumper to case has correct polarity.

Last ditch attempt: assemble outside of the case with only videocard, RAM, CPU and power cables and keyboard plugged in, easy since you have onboard power buttons.

If all fails, either the CPU or motherboard needs to be RMA'd.
Has the CPU been tested in a different board?

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanx for the tip,
found that corsair had 3 extra pins behind the mobo
and did like ya said and went ahead and powered it up on the table minus the case and BOOM!!!!! rig bios pops up!
Now I gotta run to my grandkids 2nd bday then come back and put it all back together again!
Never had a issue with extra pins before but then again its corsair.

thanx again
