Alright here it goes...I have my ram timings down to 5-5-5-5-12 T1 as it seemed more stable than 4-4-4-4-12 T2...I have tried to up the cpu ratio (multiplier) to both 12 and 13...Windows boots, but I consistantly fail prime 95...When I up vcore voltage to 1.4, my load temps go around 64C and that makes me a tad nervous, yet it runs prime 95 for about ten minutes and then fails....what the hell! I cannot seem to harness the power of this beast!

Your load temps are 64c and it fails Prime with 1.4v at STOCK settings?

What are the rest of the system specs? Motherboard, RAM, PSU, cooling, ect.....something is not right.

That CPU should run fine at stock settings with les than 1.2v, and definatly a heck of a lot cooler than 64c load.

No let me clarify....At stock settings the system runs great....when I start upping voltage and mutliplier, thats when we hit unstable.

I can run stock prime 95 two instances and stay under 50 C each core at load.

it's been a while since I overclocked also as the last system I did overclock was the mighty k6-2 300mhz with a whole 64mb of ram if that gives you any idea.

but on my system right now which is the E6600 I can run around 3300mhz at -1.3750-1.3875v (according to the bios setting) but I suffer from the same thing as you as with full load the cpu wants to run warm at around 60*C or so. but then again I'm on the stock heat sink also with a dinky case and one 120mm fan. right now I am running at 3060 mhz on 1.3250v and only reaching 53ish*C at full load. which make me wonder what is going on with the cooling in your computer. you should be doing a lot better then I am.

how good is the connection between the CPU and the heatsink? overdo the thermal grease or not enough maybe? it's not that doubt you or anything but figure one step at a time first. and as I said I'm fairly new to this anymore myself so I'm only bringing up something I know I have done myself.

hey man..Its not so much the heat as the stability that is getting to me...I cannot seem to pass prime 95 for mpre than like twenty minutes.
