Mechanical keyboards and laptop battery life

Apologies if this is covered somewhere. I've searched but found nothing.

If I use a wired mechanical keyboard with, say, a Macbook Pro, how badly will it affect the laptop's battery life? I'm aware of the couple of bluetooth options, but I'm leaning toward a couple of other keyboards for my first mechanical one.
