A P4 3.4 GHz runs off of a 200 MHz clock, so you would want PC3200 as a minimum. If you're planning on overclocking, you'll want to get either high quality PC3200 or something faster. Consider what speed you're hoping to run your 3.4 at, and match your RAM to that speed.

You'll also want to see what speed RAM the motherboard supports, although, sometimes it's not a bad idea to buy RAM that is a little faster than what your board can handle. It will default to the highest supported speed, and then you can continue to use that RAM when you upgrade boards.

Different speeds of RAM will run together, but will all run at the same speed, ie, the slowest speed.

Is there a problem with using ECC and non-ECC RAM in the same rig? I just bought 2x 1gb ECC RAM for my PC-DL Deluxe board, and I'm wondering if I can buy another gig of non-ECC, or should I only stick with ECC now? Both are supported, I just need to know if I'll be making a mistake by using non-ECC with the ECC... Any help?

I have the 2.4B oc'ed to 3.3. My memory is 1 stick of PC3200 Crucial, 1gig. I have another stick of 256MB PC3200. Why can't these work together? Whats more to look for in compatibility other than PCxxxx or DDRxxx

haha liked the sig...it gave me an idea. Why not make car rims in the shape of fans? Then when you drive if you have your rims set on suck lol, it will pull air into the brakes? Think about it...$1000000 idea!
