Memory compatibility?

other than ddr2 is all memeory compatiable? like pc2700 to pc4000?

or what would i nedd fro a p4 3.4?

Is there a problem with using ECC and non-ECC RAM in the same rig? I just bought 2x 1gb ECC RAM for my PC-DL Deluxe board, and I'm wondering if I can buy another gig of non-ECC, or should I only stick with ECC now? Both are supported, I just need to know if I'll be making a mistake by using non-ECC with the ECC... Any help?
