if i have two sticks of memory from different compagny does its bad? or its ok

i have 2x 512

one kingston
one extreme

they should both work fine together... but timings will be set to whichever stick has the highest timings... this may hold you back if/when you decide to overclock

to get best performance in dual channel mode they should be identical and matched pair. Like a set or exactly identical single sticks of dual channel.

for best performance of course.

ok here what i did

i taken my kingston 512 mb 333 mhz and switched it into my grand mother pc

and i taken her extreme 512 mb 333 mhz

so now i got both identical extreme 512 mb 333 mhz

only thing im asking is if kingston is better than extreme a lot or if both are similar because i dont wanna down for what i did lol i like the performance.
