...i was getting a message saying there was a power surge and my pc shut down to protect itself..was wrecking my head...if i do recall correctly...we did change it from 1300 to 1600...as a last resort..i cleared the cmos and now its fine... think it resets bios setting when you do that...Its now set at 1300.

Is it possible it was because we changed it to 1600that i was getting that report? because id love to know what it was. its a brand new rig..and decent power supply (Corsair GS 800).

Keep in mind that AMD systems tend to underclock the memory to the devider previous to the actual RAM speed when 2 or more slots are populated. Do you have 2x4 Bg sticks or 4x2 Gb? In any case,you must set the timings,speeds of your RAM manually through the BIOS.
