after the latest 93 MB update I found it in the directory of the game.
unfortunately, the update also broke the game and now it wont run. but here it is.

navigate to:

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\metro 2033

open metro2033benchmark.exe
