Only took them 10 years to make a proper replacement? The 4.0 was poor and it died after that. IE3.0 was probably the last decent mouse M$ made. Sadly I don't expect M$ to use a proper sensor on this one it will be some office cheaper type.<br><br>
If it comes with 3360 or better, resolves the IE3.0 issues, then I would buy it.

"Tracking is now even more precise with a DPI range up to 3200"<br><br>
I'm not quite sure they realize how bold such a statement is. Or even what they're suggesting...at all.<br><br>
lol @ this potentially being one of the most hyped (and concurrently, biggest potential letdowns) in mouse history.

Slightly interesting but probably comes with inferior sensor to MLT04 just so they could sell it to DPI > 400 crowd so doubt anyone cares about it in the end.

I pray not. Might have to cross my nuts in hopes that they don't blow this.

Well, it won't be mlt04 for sure. And I get a feeling that it will be some VCSEL sensor.

I don't think they do. But they are aimed at office drones and consumers. OCN mouse snobs will likely shop elsewhere anyways.

Can you imagine if the sensor is actually some custom 3360 or better and they come out saying: " We know the MLT04 was amazing, it had high fps and a raw feel that everyone "in the know" revered. We have now perfected this newest sensor to be a worthy successor. We know that dpi higher than 3200 is pointless (obviously, duh) so we cut all the bs and here it is, the best mouse ever - Your friends at Microsoft"

On one hand I feel like Microsoft knows that the only people who still care about the IME3.0 are the gamers who'd want a good sensor, but on the other hand, Microsoft.

Zowie will release a proper 3360 mouse that justifies it's 60-70 euro price tag sooner than microsoft releases a custom gaming sensor IME and WMO.

Probably won't be that good for gaming.<br><br>
If you think about it, the older MS mice were just good for gaming "by accident" in a sort of way.
