sorry, iampoor bought it, already shipped.

Ok, so here is the scoop with this machine, all out on the table. I know its not worth much, but please no negative comments. If you post here to mock it, thats fine, but please leave me an appraisal too

  • Specs: Toshiba Lappie, P4 (prescott) @ 3.2, dvd/cdrw combo, 60gb hdd, 512mb ddr, wifi, cardreader
Now for the bad news:
  • Touchpad no worky
  • LCD screen is completely gone
  • serious cosmetic damage all around the case
  • battery doesnt work
  • AC Adapter soldered direct to motherboard
  • Speakers are non working (wires cut)
  • Extremely dirty
  • wifi cosmetic switch is missing, but switch still functional and attached to motherboard. Wifi works
  • See pics for a good laugh
  • LEDs in front (on charge, on battery) do not work, as they are on the same connector as the touchpad, which is disconnected. I think the touchpad is shorted, just needs cleaning most likely.

Good news:
  • Runs fine
  • Fast and stable
  • HDD passes fitness test
  • CPU passes burn in
  • Memory passes memtest
  • Wifi works (atheros based)
  • Cardreader works
  • keyboard works
  • Hot keys work, LEDS in same area work
The system runs fine, fast and stable. HDD passes fitness test, CPU passes burn in test, and memtest also passes. Wifi and card reader work, sound card works. Its mostly cosmetic damage.

Please understand, I got this laptop from a blind man after he accidentally destroyed the screen and upgraded laptops. I accepted this laptop as payment for services rendered (Setting up his new laptop)

Hidden under the duct tape is the wireless antenna's. I placed them here after I removed the LCD panel and plate.

...40$? lol i say just keep it and farm on it
What the ghetto?
what kind of gpu?

I'd say $40-60 since it would make a nice htpc or something.

And dude, CLEAN THE DAMN THING.
Makes me wanna take a shower =/
I hate to say but you would be lucky to get $20 unless you find someone with the same lappy looking for spare parts.
I say keep it, and rack mount it tto the back of a LCD panel for a hidden computer setup a-la Mac. Otherwise I would say about 60$ for the unit as is if everything you say works really does work.
$30-40 shipped.
Somebody could use it as a basis for a car PC or maybe a workshop PC with a cheap LCD and keyboard/mouse.
I WANT THAT!!! It would be a great computer for me (I thought of a use, but i cant remember it right now...)

lol well make me an offer. I am not sure exactly how much it would cost to ship to the states, but I would assume around $25CAD ought to cover it.

I'll give you 10 bucks just to clean the hair and food out of it! AND you can keep it.
LOL, looks cool, I like how you have it all rigged up so that you can still use it. Reminds me of a human head being attached to a computer being kept artificially alive.

its actually amazing how easy it is for blind people to use computers. Everything is audible, and there are even games for blind people. I guess life gets lonely when you have multiple serious disabilities (blind, missing one leg, diabetes, seriously obese, you get the idea).

Why would you need a computer? Just because you can see doesnt make you special.

Reminds me of my handicapped lappie-- which still works great for HTPC---

You should see it now actually, the fan controller on the mobo for the CPU heatsink fan died -- so I attached a blower fan to the side with zipties and hot glue that blows through where the exhaust was through the heatsink and out the where the intake was -- with a seperated 12v AC adapter that you have to plug in before you turn it on-- keeps it cooler actually and quieter...
