I wake up this morning and find my computer is turned on. think that maybe windows restarted after an update i thought nothing of it, but what i find is that windows has not loaded and there is just a white _ blinking. I tried the start up repair but it found nothing. I tried fixing it with the Bootrec command but that didnt work. I tried systrem restore and i finally got windows working but the next day windows did the same thing but this time the system restore did not work. I have a feeling that microsofts update had something to do with this. I am really out of ideas and i am getting pretty frustrated. PLease any help to figure out this problem would be great

If the MBR is missing or damaged, reboot with the Windows XP disk, select to start the recovery console, and then use the 'fixmbr' command. You may need the administrator password.
