Hi there,

currently I have AMD 3200+ Venice running at stock speed (2 GHz) with ASUS A8N5X mobo and Corsair TwinX memory running in dual channel (2x512Mb) with 2-3-3-6 1T timings. Very stable.

Now, I got a PNY Verto memory (just 1 stick) that is rated at DDR500 and rated timings (@500Mhz) is 2.5-4-4-7

1. Would I lose dual channel (from Corsair 2x512) if I added this third stick (PNY Verto)? If yes, would I have any benefits adding third stick compared to my current setup in dual channel (2x512Mb)?
2. If I added PNY Verto and if I ran all three sticks at 400 MHz, could I tighten timings on PNY Verto (rated 2.5-4-4-7 @ 500 Mhz, what timings to set at 400 MHz)? Would I have to change to 2T (instead of 1T)?

What would you do in my case? and how would you set timings if added 3rd stick? And fianlly, if I got one more stick of PNY Verto (2x 512Mb PNY Verto & 2x512Mb Corsair TwinX) , what to do in that case?

Thanks for all the help...greatly appreciated...

I dont think your computer would start with 3 sticks of memory in it(mine didn't). If it did you would definatly lose your dual channel setup. I would suggest replacing the Corsair with the Pny and checking you timing's for stability. Then uping them till UnStAbLe.

Thanks for the reply. I would definitely replace my Corsair (2x512 Mb) if I had two sticks of PNY Verto. Sadly, I only have one stick of PNY (512 Mb).
So, for now, I think it's better to have a dual channel with 1 gig than a single channel with 512 Mb.
