more than 1 raid setup on onboard

i have 2 raid 0 setups on my intel p35. is this detrimental to system performance? should i kill the second raid 0 and just keep the main raid 0 setup?

i have 2 640gb aaks in raid 0 that i use for vista and my documents. i also have 2 250akks in raid 0 that i back up things onto, then i have a few externals that i back everything up onto. the 2 250akks aren't really needed in a raid setup.

Do a RAID 0 for the OS and programs (Strip for speed= a drive fails, no more data and a RAID 5 for your prized data (redundancy, a drive fails replace and rebuild the array= data is recoverable). I assume you are using 2 different controllers? If you are using a RAID 0 for your back up it is pointless, if you loose a drive, no more data.
this i know. i only used the raid 0 to make the drive larger and have faster backing up. i back everything up from the backup raid to several different drives to have redundant backups of my backup.

what i was wondering was if the 2 raids running on the same onboard raid controller was hurting my computer's performance.

Using onboard RAID means that you are using your CPU to direct the files for the array. The performance hit should not be noticeable. The only time it might be slightly noticeable is during excessive usage of both arrays at once. I find it humorous that you use RAID0 for backup... Even if it is for greater space, you might be better off with JBOD or RAID1. Whatever works for you...
