What is the most effective type of heatsink? When asking these questions:

1. All copper? Or a mix of aluminum and copper?
2. More heat pipes the better? Or is there a magic number
3. Do angles come into play with heat pipes? What angle is most effective?

Thanks

most effective would be all copper, with as many heat pipes you can get (but still have room for enough fins that you have enough surface area to dissipate the heat)

but at some point you are going to get to a spot where extra heat pipes and fins just wont make any noticeable changes.

the most effective would be all copper, BUT performance to cost, a copper HDT with aluminum fins performs on par with an all copper version (maybe only a few degrees warmer)

Rifle/Tower coolers seem to be the best performing cooler on the market right now. and performance/cost I'd go with the HDT-s1283
