Hola guys,

what you would suggest in 2020 as the most power efficient platform having at least 4 native sata and fake raid controller functionality? I don't need any streaming capability and so on so something with 2 cores - 4 threads would be more than enough....

I need to lower my actual linux nas server power usage aiming to a full passive solution, something near 20w in idle without the hdds/ssds for the storage part....I would like going to ssds but since i need 4tb usage space it's still to costly even if I'll go for 2tb ssds each and using 2+2 in raid 1.....well, we will see....

cheers!

I would be ok with just one or two gigabit eth

would be perfect a industrial platform with dual nics but usually they lack on sata connections....

I need low idle power since I would like it on 24/7

Yup maybe efficient is misleading since you can have a 400w cpu that’s more efficient on some workloads than a previous generation one

So I will correct myself asking for the platform allowing gigabit connection (maybe dual), 4 native sata ports, maybe a m2 connector for os drive and sporting dual cores/4 threads capability while consuming the littlest power consumption on idle and load....

I checked j atoms but they have only 2 sata and the other 2 are through asmedia controller.... any industrial soc platform in sight allowing software raid on 4 sata drives and 10w tdp?

because I need a linux distro on it :) I already have a dual bay nas just for backup of the linux NAS in a different building of my block, you know, IT guy paranoia ...
