So i got a problem, Most of my games and some applications aren't running. All I get is the message "<this game> has stopped working" and the debug brings up nothing. I tried using Starcraft 2 map editor and i got the error
"ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
occurred at 0023:00000000. The memory at '0x00000000' could not be executed." This could be a RAM problem?

I've tried running memtest for a few passes which gave no errors, reinstalled SC2, did full virus scan with kapersky, malware bytes, MSE and reinstalled video card drivers. My last option is to just do a clean install of Windows but if anyone else has had this problem please shed some light on this.

Try running chkdsk /F on all your drives. Then do "sfc /scannow" (without quotes). The first will check for errors on your hard drive and the second will verify the integrity of your operating system files. Other than that you may want to consider using Ccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) to delete temporary junk files as well as cleaning your registry. Hope that helps, good luck!

Going to bump this.

I ran Windows memory diagnostic on each stick and the second stick gave a ton of errors. I can still boot into windows and run all my programs but most games still don't work. I get no BSODs or freezing. I'm going to do a clean install of windows and see what happens. Any suggestions?
