most powerful video card for a NSK2480 case (380w psu)

Hi

I'm looking to turn my media centre into a LAN box as I don't want to move my main rig around (didn't install my cooler w/ backplate as it was an upgrade, and it was a total mission lol don't trust the pushpins).

Its in an Antec NSk2480 microatx case w/ a 380w built in PSU using Asus P5N7A-VM mobo.

Whats the best card that will fit / power will be sufficient? Can it take a dual slot card?

I was leaning towards a ATi 4850 but afraid that the power reuqirements are on steep side. Probably be safe with a 4770?

Also another thing to consider is that the board has 9300M IGP so I do have option for hybridSLI, but so far this gen ATI has won the bang/buck race IMHO

I would think even a 4770 would be pushing it. I guess you're not considering upgrading the PSU any?
Word of caution, built in psu's are BAD. If you value your other machine, spend 50 dollars on an antec 380w or corsair 400w. -
That's an Antec Earthwatts 380watt.

You can support up to an HD4850 or GTS250 or HD5770

These guys are right, it would be pushing it. I would get this PSU and this GPU, unless you want ATi, in that case, get this.

I have used that PSU in a clone of my current computer minus the 9600 GSO, and it powers everything very well. Even does good on pulling air out of the case, a very good budget PSU IMHO.

EDIT: I didn't know it was an Antec Earthwatt's PSU, they are really dang efficient and could easily power all of the video cards mentioned.

That HEC X-Power unit is junk.

I knew it was an Antec but didn't realise it was an earthwatts. 4770 it is then, cheers
Hey dudes, listen to tater tot. He knows his stuff. And I personally would have no qualms about running any of the cards he listed with an Earthwatts 380.

Actually I did more research and it appears the PSU is not an earthwatts, its an SU380

5750/70 ftw.
lovely. I'm going for a 5750, they're even lower power draw than 4670 and for occasional LAN purposes / couch gaming on driving/sports games should be more than sufficient.

Just a bit worried about dual slot requirement but since I don't need my PCIEx1 port should be fine? (tuner is old fashioned PCI)

The 9800GT green edition card will run on 300 watt psu
Hehe after thoroughly checking out power figures its v tempting to drop a bit more on a 5770, TPD of ~220W on benchmark systems (~200 for 5750).

Thanks again all for their input and esp tatortots for correcting the PSU thing.

No problem man. Always glad to help.

For the difference in price/size/tdp/power HD5770 seems like a winner to me.
