Hi everyone!!

I am new to this forum and I just joined so this is my first post!! You all seem very helpful to people so I hope I can ask the right questions here. OK well here goes nothing.
So I tried to put new RAM into my computer and it started to smell like an electrical fire... so long story short I need to buy a new one. I am not that into the overclocking(sp?) like some of you but I want a good system. I read some of the other emails on here and I found a good mother board and processor--

--but if you go to that page and click add to cart it goes to the next page where it says... do I need a paste or heatsink or other upgrades on there? I don't know about that!!
Well I need to buy new RAM now (LOL) but I am thinking of just doing the 2GB upgrade from on that site, that way it is set up for me. Is that a good idea or should I buy it elsewhere?
Next thing I need a new video card and from what you all have said I think the PCI-EXPRESS is the one to get, but I want to spend only around $200 for it. Any ideas?
Also I am not sure what my current power supply is but it says ALLIED AL-A400ATX... is that going to be enough? I don't have a lot of money (2 young kids!).
And I am also wondering if I will need to buy a separate sound card or a separate ethernet card? I hope to keep this under 800 dollars if I can! Am I dreaming?? LOL

Ok well my old computer I found out was an ATX, so I have to get that size of a motherboard I guess, I hope that one I posted above will fit, I really like what some of you have said about it.

Whew! Well I really hope you can help me, this seems like a nice group here and I hope to buy my new computer soon, I am on my neighbors!! Thank you very much for your help I look forward to your advice! Sorry I asked so many questions for my first email!!!

Are you looking for something that will just be for watching movies, music and web browsing or do you want a rig that will play the latest games?

Holy macaroll, that will keep your kids entertained for a while! Humm, yes your going to need a new PSU, btw, I would recommend buying your parts from either www.newegg.com or www.zipzoomfly.com best prices fastest service (in my years of exp.)

Thank you for your message!!! That was very fast! OK well I don't really need to play the new games but I did like the new Civilization 4 on my old (broken

) computer so I need it to be able to play that one. My cousin comes over a lot and he likes to play the newer games but I am not into killing people! lol well mostly you are right I just am going to email, watch movies and listen to my music. I like playing games though too!!

Ok, well, I post a setup that should max out your buck...and still give you the preformance..

1. Memory 2GB doesn't get any better than this at this price

2. Processor No need to spend more if your not going to use 100% of its preformance

3. Motherboard good price for what you need

4. Graphic card, good for what you need, plays all the latest games without a problem.

5. Powersupply, very important here, a Power supply is crucial to your system, giving your compy bad volts shortens components life.. A good Powersupply will keep your compy humming.

lol, sorry about that B, actually what happened was, I was working on this about 10 min before I was posting and I was about to click the "submit reply" button and my compy said "Internet Exp. has unexpectily quit" (on a mac, while I wait for my case paint to dry) so I decided to edit the things in so it would save my work I guess... lol sry.

I wouldnt be so sure of that thermaltake! Get a nice Fortron, those things are awesome. The 400 watt fortron is enough to power a 3700 and a single 7800GTX. Dual 12 volt rails

16 amps each!

And for 32 amps on the 12 volt rail and 400 watts it only costs 40 CAD
