i need some help from you guys more than ever!!!
this morning i was on the computer and it freaking caught on fire!!!
smoke came out the back of it and i unplugged it.

now the fire was small, but it was still a freaken fire!!!!

it took me awhile but i finally got it to turn back on, and i took the side off to see the damage.
nothing was wrong with it from what i could see, so i watched it as it was running.

then it happened again!!!
it started sparking and smoke came out but i saw where it was happening!

i upload the picture of my motherboard and the sparking is happening to the left side of that asrock heat sink above the processor slot.

God i knew when people said computer could catch firethat they were joking.... my GOD!

it looked fine

@ OP That's not a picture of YOUR motherboard. It's a picture of the model of your motherboard.

An actual pic from your mobo would definitely help.

Please do not turn that computer back on with that motherboard in it. You might wind up damaging something that isn't already damaged or you might start an even worse fire that isn't easily controlled with standard house FXs.

Unplug the thing and contact asrock.

If you have not modified it or installed improperly, damaged it, etc. I would contact the manufacturer and start the RMA process.

That's certainly not a normal issue.

Well, then dont turn it on.

"Doctor it hurts when i do this". Doctor:"Then dont do it"

Yeah sounds like something shorted out. Lets see a pic.
Dont think that you can leave it off for a while and its gonna heal itself. The next time you turn it on ... you might loose something else that might cost you even more.

Good Luck.

Well crap I am not getting this board. Was considering it, but I think I will spend $10 more on a MSI GD65 because this is the last thing I would want happening when I am at school and my PC is at home, unattended and folding.
