Heya Guys,

I'm gonna order some new parts this week, decomissioning my dev virtual box and I need to bump up the performance of my machine so I can run some VMs to dev with while I work.

At the moment I'm deffinately set on the 2500k, best bang for buck by far, the part I am slightly confused about is the motherboard.

I'm currently looking at the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3, I've used Gigabyte for years without any complaints so far. However, is there anything else out there that is of better value? My only requirment is support for crossfire because I'll be upgrading my GPUs in the near future..

Let me know if you have any suggestions guys, the rest of the parts I'll be carrying over from my current rig, this rig will be watercooled so I wont be using the noctua.

Cheers guys!

Some have had issues with Sabertooth specifically dealing with bclk. I think you will be better off with the UD4 unless you wanted to bump up to the UD5.

Cheers guys, i saw the sabertooth but I am slightly put off by that massive heatsink accross the board..

It mainly looks like I'm stuck between a gigabyte board or an Asus, the ud4 looks to be the cheapest, the sabertotoh is the mots expensive and the Asus P867 Pro is smack in the middle.

I'll have a thorough look into the Pro and Sabertooth and see what I find,,

Cheers for that guys!

lol, It's not a heatsink on the sabertooth, it's a thermal shield which can come off if you do so desire. It's a beast mobo though, and i love it.

Agreed kpreet, that is an epic board, however I will never use that many pci-e slots and it's quite expensive.

I think I might go with the sabertooth, will look very neat with what I'm planning. Should look very tidy with the watercooling i've got in mind
