Motherboard stuck in case

My motherboard is stuck in my case. When trying to remove one of the screws, it just continuously spins and spins. Anyone know how to fix this? I want to get a bolt through xigy, but i can't get to the back of my mb.

sounds like you stripped it...possibly...

try a different screwdriver head?
pair of pliers on the standoff on the backside of the mobo tray
Does the screw keep spinning, or the screw driver?
If its on the edge of the motherboard, try securing the standoff with a wrench then screw out the screw.
The standoff is moving with the screw, thats the problem.

you're going to need to screw it back in then get something such as plyers to hold the standoff in place as you unscrew the motherboard screw.

Future advice: screw in mobo standoffs securely, ive had this happen to me before and its a pain

sounds like the screw from his description.

Is it the screw with the hex bolt top as well as the phillips?

And do you have the brass screw in fittings beneath the board?

if so a small set of vice grips will help pull it as you un screw.

Also as carefully as you can apply some up pressure by pulling the mother board. They are durable, but will snap so dont go all bull in a china shop...

sounds like we have all been down this road

Next build, buy some Loctite thread locker and put it on the stand off thread before installing them into the case.
