So I'm starting to get a bit annoyed with this motherboard.. I have an EVGA P67 SLI micro. Got a pretty good deal on it. I guess I know why. I've been running two hard drives in RAID0 for the last year or so. I have an SSD that I had loaned to a friend who just gave it back. The SSD works in my laptop and another desktop, but when I tried to slave it the drive was detected but it wouldn't boot. Thinking that there might be some sort of issue with RAID mode and the SSD, I unplugged the other hard drives, went into BIOS and changed it to AHCI. Nothing doing. No POST, generic 69 error code on the board, and shuts down. I put the hard drives back in and put it back into RAID, put the SSD into an external reader, and I can access it just fine in Windows. So am I missing something? Is there a setting that I need to set in the BIOS? Or should I try a firmware update? BTW, this is the MicroCenter branded SSD, G2 sandforce which I believe is the same as the ADATA, 64GB in size.

I think the 69 code is a memory issue on EVGA boards (it was on the x58 line). Which SATA ports are you plugging the SSD into? If it's the Marvell then switch to the Intel ports. The Marvell chips were notoriously finicky and most people wouldn't use them. Since you said you had a RAID0 set up on it, if you plugged the single SSD on the RAID ports that were set up for RAID it might be interfering with the SSD booting. That is just a theory though.

This board is silly. If I disable vdroop, I get the 69 error half the time. If I set the timings too tight it posts but the cpu clocks return to stock. I'll check and see which ports are what and if there are any marvel.

I'm glad I got the deal that I did. I can't imagine someone paying full price for one of these.

I can 't confirm the marvell chip using the manual I found on the EVGA site. That was on older boards and EVGA has used them for years so I was kinda thinking they were still doing it the old way

Here's the link for it:

Here is the complete list of mobo manuals:
http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/

The manual I linked to is marked as the p67 SLI. It doesn't mention the marvell anywhere so maybe it might be off of the chipset as stated in the book. Code 69 is marked as the "NorthBridge DXE initialization is started" Does it still act up if the BIOS is cleared to default? Maybe there is a timing issue or the BIOS is corrupted. I was thinking strongly that the RAID chip was interfering but now that you have said you can get it randomly clear up after tweaking a BIOS setting or two I think it's a timing issue.

You might look here to see if this thread will help:

I've updated the BIOS but I've had the computer running in the foldathon so I haven't messed with it yet. The Foldathon ends today so I'll give it another go afterward.
