I think I figured out what was causing my random shutdowns.
Im my BIOS I had a "low CPU voltage limit" shutdown at 1.00 volts.
Well apparently with cool n quiet enabled the VCORE was dipping to just about 1.00V when the computer was idling, causing the PC to just shutdown.
I disabled the low vcore shutdown but now cool n quiet doesn't work anymore.
I have the AMD opteron cool n quiet driver installed, the dual core patch, and AMD power monitor. There is no option in Power Monitor for "balanced" like I had when I was using Windows Vista. Before power monitor would lower my vcore when the cpu was idling, but in Windows XP these options are not available.
I can put it on low battery and it lowers my vcore to 1.100V and the frequency to 1.400MHz. that's lower than stock!
