We asked Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, ECS, DFI, Abit, and Biostar which of their boards would support Kentsfield, and which BIOS revision was required for that support. We received replies from everyone except Abit, but DFI said it would be a few days until they could provide this information.
The rest of the companies provided a list of Kentsfield compatible motherboards, but some of the lists raised more questions than they answered. Some of the models will be familiar to readers as boards they can currently buy, but look very closely. Some of the Kentsfield compatible boards will be new revisions that will be released in October/November

Yeah but for Gigabyte they are all Rev. 2 boards, slated for release in mid-october.

Some of the Rev. 1 boards will work, but I guess most probably won't.

Hmm, so it looks like I'll have to wait and see if a BIOS update can bring my mobo Kentsfield support.

Thanks for that! I did not doubt that the p5B deluxe would not work with Kentsfield but until you hear it from the horse's mouth you never know for sure.

I am mostly interested in the overvoltage because I will need a full 1.7vCore to hit my 4.5ghz target and above
