Get either p6t or a classified. Also I've heard that 6 sticks of ram cuts back on OC'n potential because it makes the cpu run hotter. Not sure if its true but look into it beforehand.

The P6T6 is also a wonderful motherboard. The Rampage is quite nice to.
12 gigs, are you going to do some heavy video and photo editing/encoding or 3D on the rig? If not, 12 gig is a huge total overkill imo. 6 gigs will be more than enough if so, so rather save the extra money - put it into some more good use.
but what if i was to put a TRUE on the cpu and maybe i heard someone around my town say put a couple RAM coolers on it... i didnt even know they made them...are they possibly something that would work?
I'd go with either P6T6 or P6T depending on your needs. If you need a good motherboard, and don't plan putting to many drives on it and such, the P6T will do you good.
If you want to put some drives on it and such, the P6T6 is wonderful - have it myself and I simply love it! And I also love the ASUS boards in general. ASUS have never let me down, not once.
I can't speek to much of the other boards, except that I know P6T is a great one - but the others I don't have to much experience with. But, to me at least, it sounds like the P6T6 will be a golde choise for your needs. It's great for heavy desktop working and gaming. Runs really smooth and stable, I've been using mine for 24/7 for 3-4 months now and not once single issue or error what so ever.
Using my computer for both heavy gaming and heavy dekstop tasks such as video/photo editing/encoding.
If you go for it I can almost guarantee you that you won't be disappointed. It should suite your needs from what you've said here quite perfectly.
So I'll put my vote on that once since your going to be doing video encoding and such + that you want to be able to have many drives and HDDs connected to it. Especially from my experiance with it using it for somewhat similar tasks.
Right now I'm running 4 HDDs and 1 disk drive on mine - planing to add a BR-play/burner later this year when there are some more to choose from and prices hopefully have droped a little.
