Mounting Xigmatek S1283 On i7 920

So I heard there's a certain way to mount this on a quad versus dual core. on my e8400 i had it mounted it parallel with my ran with the fan on the right pushing air and then the exhaust fan working as my pull fan. on quad cores i heard you mount it perpendicular to the ram with the fan pushing up. is this true? would i use my xiggy the same way?

never heard of it... usually the only reason why you would want to install a heatsink perpendicular was because something was in the way...
