I have an MX-510 on my family computer, it's awesome. Aside from the MX-518, the MX-510 is the best wired mouse in that price range.

The LCD. Although IMO, $30 extra for a tiny LCD isn't worth it.

Dpi is the speed the mouse goes at like most top of the line mouse runs at 400 600 and 2000dpi it's basically what that mouse is able to translate data the it picks up and send it to your computer for example my mouse has options to change between the three and laser mouses take sevral pictures and translates them into actions for the mouse to move.(diffrent Dpi is useful for diffrent apps if you need a setting that isnt as fast so you finetune lets say photoshop helps alot there or if u need fast response for gaming 2000dpi is the way to go) my mouse is 6megapixel really good quailty for a mouse g7 is a laser mouse and meant for fast PRECISE calculations inorder to get the exact order wher eu moved the mouse withour LAG, very good mouse go look at some G7's if u can live without a cord if not go with a G5. AS g5 is same thing but corded.
