I'm looking for case recommendations among other things. The idea is to keep my rig more-or-less intact and slip it into an HTPC. I'm figuring that I'll need a new heatsink, preferably an H80i or Kraken x40 if possible. A blue-ray drive is also on my to-buy list. Anything else I need to consider?

Most HTPCs are either MITX or MATX, and can be built inside very small cases that dont look out of place sitting right next to your bluray player. Your motherboard is much larger and will naturally need a much larger case. That being said, if youre planning on keeping your ATX board why change the case at all? What exactly are you looking for in the new case?

Eh, I love this thing. It fits a full ATX board.

I want a case I can slide into my entertainment center...I'm moving to a small apartment later this year and my current desk takes too much real-estate. Rather than buying a smaller desk, I want to build a media center.

Think I'm going with THIS as my case. Any recommendations for fans or heatsinks?

Also, does anyone have experience with this tv?

I have the GD06, previous case to the GD07. I have a scythe big shuriken 2 on a matx h77 mobo that is pretty quiet and cools perfectly ok for an i3 3220. I think Noctua also makes a new low profile cooler as well, the NH L9i. The stock fans seemed to be a bit of mixed opinions, some say its too loud, I found them to be ok noise wise, but as I had 3 120mm noctuas sitting around from a previous build I put them in the case with the 7v adapter and they are to my ears almost inaudible. Good luck with the build!

You cant go wrong with a Sliverstone HTPC case. I have an older a LC20 and really like the Grandia 08. I had a apevia and what a piece of junk, sharp edges, crappy power supply. I took the Silverstone apart to paint and I was amazed when taken apart how flexible it was but put together it was solid as a rock. Good choice of case.

Okay, this what I've gotten so far

-Heatsink should just fit in (138mm tall, 141mm clearance)
-Also, heard many good things about Noctua fans
-Still on the fence about what TV to jump for

Looks good, per the Silverstone website, http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=330&area=en, it has the cooler height limit of 138mm, which is what you have the height of the cooler as, I'm not sure I'd want to try and squish that in there.. Maybe someone will have better knowlege than me of that cooler in that case though. I went with a lower profile cooler in my Gd06 due to having an optical drive in there, different design but I was limited to 70 mm height with the optical drive. Post some pics when you get working on it

Check out Noctua's low profile coolers like the NH-L12, also the Scythe Big Shuriken 2.
