Hello folks, I'd very much appreciate if anyone can give some insight into my little issue...

I need to keep an Excel worksheet updated with ever changing data from an other worksheet all while keeping the notes that are written to the first worksheet. This probably sounds incredibly complicated. I'll try to elaborate...

I am far from an expert in Excel but this is how I think the formula should work - IF A + B column combo from workbook#1 match any A + B column combo from workbook 2 THEN update the corresponding column XYZ with data from workbook2.xlsx. All while leaving additional formatting and notes in tact.

So, if the data in workbook#1 A1 + B1 are the same as data in workbook2 A5 + B5 then update workbook#1 X1, Y1, Z1, with the data in workbook#2 X5, Y5, Z5.

I'm sure there is some extra info needed to solve this but any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that you can not have two copies if Excel running at the same time, so you can't run formulas that involve two workbooks.

Put the spreadsheets on two different sheets in the same worlbook.
