Well, on this day of PDC 2009, since I won’t hear anything about Windows 8, I took it upon myself to see what I could scrounge up. It looks like a bit more is being announced to partners where Windows 8 Server is concerned… well, in the context of a roadmap, at least. The information all says the same thing I’ve been reporting via other roadmaps: Windows 8 being released around a time frame of 2012. Perhaps the whole, “end-of-the-world†thing in 2012 really has something to do with Windows 8. Or not. lol. Either way, here are the additions to my ginormous roadmap collection:

Although that second roadmap doesn’t have anything listed for a name, it’s once again the same old song: Windows 8 ~2012.

Who believes in 2012 anyways? Well, here's some roadmaps, for anybody who's interested.

No idea why this story got picked up only this week, graphs are like 3 months old...
I really don't see the need of a new OS as soon as 2012, yet anyways...
Windows 7 is beautiful
I seriously think they should just improve on it for now. Windows 8 can wait.

A new OS may be release in 2012 but business will mostly like adopt Win 7 by then (maybe even later)

I like how the roadmap mentions nothing about Windows Vista lol.
True. I wondered why microsoft just don't make an OS for business use that they will support a LONG time/ or keep XP? Guess that just would mean that microsoft should make all the software to support the OS when it gets old....

lol had to add that im just typing something random, if it does not make sense ingnore, im tired

3 years between Windows OSes is about the norm.
I find it interesting that the road map doesnt go past 2012...

Don't read too much into it, I think this is just a tentative roadmap that leads to Windows 9 and stops there.

And the reason the Windows Vista is not there, is the same reason Windows XP is not there. They are not server OS's. The only reason I can think as to why Windows 7 is listed up there was because it was just released with Windows Server 2008 R2 which is based on the same kernel or something like that.

Windows 8 Beta 2013, release January 2014

Called it.
Going to go Windows 7 in a few months when I can be bothered to clean up my hard drive...so much rubbish on it!

I, for one, hope MS can break the cycle.

95 = Suck
98 = Rock
ME = Suck
XP = Rock
Vista = Suck
7 = Rock
8 = BREAK THE CYCLE!

Notice that?

And all MS OSes except 7 sucked until there was an SP, after that they were good, even 98, XP, Vista, etc.

I didn't think Vista sucked; but I guess everyone else does.
