Hi all,new guy looking for advice.i am currently running an fx5200.i am looking to upgrade with help from santa.my 2 choices are fx 5700 vtd or radeon 9800 se.both these cards are the same price at my local outlet,but,which one will play my fave games (halo & ut 2004).
please help,i am keen to upgrade my gaming experience for the holidays,thanx.

definatly the 9800 cause u can unlock the other 4 pipelines so there will be 8 and its ways faster and way more fps

yep get the 9800 and softmod to pro with some dna drivers www.dna-drivers.nl or omega drivers www.omegadrivers.net

You could shop around online for a 9800 PRO and pick it up for about $200... that'll will give you a nice cushion to step up to harder core games. And when you need more, theres the softmod trick to step it up to a 9800xt.

Thanx for your help guys,tell me,is there much difference between a radeon 9800 & 9600 ? Would be worth buying a 9600 rather than a 9800 & save myself some valuable cash ?

Well thanx guys,you all said 9800 was the way for me to go ,so, today i invested in one & to my absolute glee i was not disapointed in the slightest.Put some tried & tested games in to compare with the old fx5200 & wow, what a difference.
Thanx for all your advice.i was a bit dubious at shelling out some serious cash for hardware that is required primarily for games but now i am totally chuffed to bits.
