Well the card has a HUGE amount of VRMs.
Pretty much twice as a normal 580.

So the headroom is pretty high.
Only issue might be is heat.

As I see you are using the HAF932, it should be fine.

I bet on a 1K OC at least, but don't later blame me if it doesn't

If it's about having the power, just SLI the 570s unless you're a single card user

well its the overclocking i'm more about...i wanna push what i have to the max or close. and my 570 is like a fragile baby haha, i mean yea there are the ppl and stories of pushing it to 900+ and i may have one of them cards. but its not worth the high risk of frying i dont believe.

Meh to be honest, those that get a 1k overclock are lucky OR are using LN2.

I get 971 Core on my cheapo PNY (reference GTX 580s), I don't think the VRM itself holds these reference cards back, its just the GPU limit is around there.

But still 24% increase is still good though now matter how you look at it. Odds are though, you can hit this on the reference GTX 580s. Despite the upgraded power circuitry or not, so consider that before shelling out an extra 30~70$. Unless you want the cooler, in which case, it works really well.

I like shiney things.....lol
But given what you say would a 580 overclocked to 950 (for a low) be a substantial increase over a 570 overlocked to ~920?

Yea it would be the same 20% stock vs stock on avg, but min fps is diff. It will be higher when using 580. Lightning are always not ur standard air cards, yes they do clock high, but they are built for sub zero temps. Too bad no waterblocks are released or else these cards would shine.
