multiple gpu2 errors

328 Views 11 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  H3||scr3am
Hey, I just got my second 4850 and I want to be able to fold on both cards.

I have 2 monitors connected and have coppied the gpu folding folder. I renamed it and made the short cuts with the respective -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 flags. All I see when I try to start the second gpu folding program are errors.

I really could use some help.

TIA

Delete the 2nd folder and make a new one from scratch. Perhaps what will help. Do any of them work is it just the 2nd card btw?

Yeah I tried to just copy the folder and it messed up all my folding. That should work though.

Make sure Crossfire is disabled and your desktop is extended.

Also, this guide Multi-GPU2 might help.

Oh, can you give us a specific error message?

One problem is when I put any arguments after the shortcut. This goes for SMP and GPU2. The error is a Core Download Error. When the second client is started I get an error saying amdcalrt.dll was not found.
did you change the machine IDs? they can't both have the same machine ID, run the -configonly flag on the second card's client change the machine ID and see if that does it

Not sure if its related, but at the bottom of the guide there is a CUDART.dll download link. I believe you need that file in both folders for them to work.

Ok I got the arguments working just fine, but it keeps saying that i am missing that amdcalrt.dll .... I have no clue what it is. Maybe a restart will fix it
download the latest installer, it should be in the folder... or maybe copy it from your other folding clients folder...
Ok thank you ALL so much! I found the dll in another version of the installer. All working as expected now
